The North Kitsap High School boys swim team controlled the momentum of its first meet of the season, defeating Sequim for a home victory.

POULSBO — The North Kitsap High School boys swim team controlled the momentum of its first meet of the season, defeating Sequim for a home victory.

The Vikings earned 106 points to Sequim’s 77. Of the Viking swimmers, the 200 Medley Relay, 400 Free Relay and four individual swimmers earned District qualifying times.

The 200 Medley Relay (Y.Aban, I.Christen, D.Williams, M.Gilman) placed first in with a time of 1 minute 57.4 seconds. Qualifying time for the 200 MR is 2:13. The 400 Free Relay team (Aban, Christen, Gilman, B.Machen) finished first (4:02.53). Qualifying time for 400 Free Relay is 4:20.

Individually, Aban finished first in the 100 Butterfly (59.92) and 100 Backstroke (1:04.23). Williams finished second in the Butterfly (1:10.79). District qualifying time for 100 Butterfly is 1:13; 1:17 for backstroke. Christen finished first in the 200 Individual Medley (2:24.65) and Gilman finished second (2:39.32). Qualifying time for 200 IM is 2:40.

The Vikings swim at home against Olympic High School Dec. 13 at 3 p.m. in the North Kitsap Community Pool.
