North end residents finish strong during iDive

Three north end residents topped the charts during the 2014 iDive Invitational in Vancouver over Memorial Day Weekend

VANCOUVER B.C. — Three north end residents topped the charts during the 2014 iDive Invitational in Vancouver over Memorial Day Weekend.

Kingston’s Cammy Rouser finished fist in the girls 1m and 3m springboard competitions. Poulsbo’s Jackie Hellmers took third in the 1m, and second in the 3m.

Kingston’s Duncan Platz finished third in the boys 1m and 3m competitions.

The divers competed with the Bainbridge Island Dive Club to the invite, where more than 70 divers participated.

“We have a young, hard working team that supports each other very well,” coach Chris Miller said. “I expect you’ll hear a lot more from these kids.”

The team will participate the Summer Junior Region 10 Championships in Santa Clara, Calif. on June 13 as part of the qualifying system for the National Championships.

12-13: Duncan Platz, 3, 148.6
