Born Sept. 10, 1931 in Phoenixville, Pa., died June 26, 2012 in Bremerton after a short battle with cancer. He was 80.
James was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James; and granddaughter, Chelsie Grace.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Julianne (Julie Pate), of Suquamish; daughter, Tracy Grubaugh Oeser and her husband, Shawn, of Spokane; stepdaughters, Michelle of Dade City, Fla., and Tami Smeland of Port Orchard; grandchildren, Matt, Grace, Mike, Ronnie, Jacob, Joshua, Justin, Jasmine, Tami, Melissa, Kaylie, and Matt; and a very special stepson, Randy Martz.
He topped off his career as a chef, but also owned and operated the Deluxe Tavern and Honest Jim’s Tavern in Bremerton. Jim served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
