The Hood Canal Bridge reopened to marine traffic Friday, after being closed to boats for most of week.
According to a DOT news release, engineers determined a malfunctioning tachometer board caused the bridge to close faster than it was supposed to Monday. The bridge sustained minor damage in the incident and was closed to marine traffic beginning Tuesday.
A new tachometer board has been ordered.
The bridge reopened to marine traffic Friday on a limited basis. DOT will be unable to open the bridge certain times as repairs are made.
