Grassroots merchants hailing from across the Hood Canal all the way to the other side of Agate Pass will be congregating in Port Gamble again this summer.
The historic little logging town opens its 6th annual season of Sunday Markets — a forum for handmade crafts and artistry and local farmers’ goods — at 11 a.m. April 6, with a few changes in mind, Port Gamble events coordinator Julie McAfee said.
This year the market will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., running April through September — one hour shorter per day and one month shorter than previous years.
“The last couple of years have been brutal on us with the weather,” McAffee noted.
Also this season, the Port Gamble market looks forward to increasing its number of fresh produce vendors while expecting back a cadre of handcrafted goods booths featuring everything from handmade soaps to locally crafted jewelry.
And one last new development, live music will be featured once a month from June through August, with artists to be announced. WU
