LITTLE BOSTON — Firefighters extinguished a laundry-room fire in a Little Boston home Monday morning, after a passerby reported smoke rolling out of the house.
Flames were showing in a small, single-story house on Little Boston Lane when crews from North Kitsap Fire and Rescue arrived shortly after 9 a.m. The residents were not in the house when the fire started but came home before fire crews arrived, North Kitsap Fire and Rescue spokeswoman Michele Laboda said.
Firefighters kept the flames from spreading outside of the laundry room. Laboda said there is likely smoke damage throughout the house.
The fire displaced six residents. The home was not insured. The Westsound Chapter of the American Red Cross is providing the family with emergency housing, clothing and food assistance.
