HANSVILLE — The Flotsam and Jetsam Garden Club of Hansville is offering scholarships of $1,000 to $3,000 to individuals pursuing a degree or certificate in an environmental or horticultural related field. Scholarships will vary depending on applicants’ needs and qualifications.

High school seniors, current college students and/or continuing education students are encouraged to apply. The scholarships will be awarded in May for the 2016-17 academic year. All applicants must be permanent residents of north Kitsap County.

Applications are available at the advisers’ offices at North Kitsap and Kingston high schools and can be downloaded from the garden club’s website, www.flotsamandjetsamgardenclub.com.

The club is also offering grants for the beautification and conservation of North Kitsap. All projects that aid in the protection of native plants and birds, including civic plantings will be considered. Grants will be awarded in May for the June 2016 -May 2017 time period.
