Bluewater opens to a crowd

POULSBO — Russ and Christy Camerer are offering something new to artist-heavy Poulsbo: a framing center.

The Camerers have been offering framing services for several years out of their home, and found the perfect space in the former Nilsen Appliance Center on Front Street. The space had been vacant for four years.

Bluewater Artworks Gallery and Framing features 64 local artists’ paintings, handmade items and sculptures.

Christy said Bluewater already has eight frame orders, and all of their equipment is state-of-the-art, “museum-quality.”

“I’m excited for the community to come through the shop,” Russ said. “It’s been like a rollercoaster ride.”

The building, owned by the Mentor Company, was remodeled and upgraded inside and out.
