COMPUTER CLASS: Kitsap Regional Library’s computer literacy program will offer Internet 101 from 12:30 – 2 p.m. today. Designed for the novice computer user, this hands-on class will teach the skills to begin navigating the Web. The class is designed for new computer users who already have basic mouse and keyboarding skills. Register at the Poulsbo Library at (360) 779-2915. Class is limited to four students.

MARINE SCIENCE CENTER: The Poulsbo Marine Science Center offers classes for new and prospective volunteers. The class will provide an overview of the marine animals and is required for all docents and anyone considering volunteering. Next class: From 6-7:30 p.m. June 12. CHUCKWAGON: Chuckwagon Senior Nutrition Program invites seniors age 60 and older to attend a special Father’s Day Lunch at noon on June 12. The meal will be served at locations in East Bremerton, Port Orchard, Kingston, Silverdale, Poulsbo and Bainbridge Island. Call for reservations and location information. Lunch will include sunshine salad, beef stroganoff over noodles, winter mix vegetables, whole wheat roll and a brownie. Reservations are required by 2:30 pm Wed. June 11. $3 suggested donation.

RUMMAGE SALE: Kingston Cooperative Preschool will have a child and baby rummage sale on June 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the preschool at Kola Kole Park. A wide variety of children’s toys, clothing, and furniture will be available. To drop off gently used children’s items for the sale call (360) 297-3220.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST: The Poulsbo Firefighters will be hosting its 10th annual Pancake Breakfast at the main fire station, 911 NE Liberty Road on June 15. They will offer pancakes, sausage, hashbrowns, eggs, coffee and juice to the public from 7 a.m. until noon. Proceeds will benefit the Firefighters Community Assistance Fund.

REPUBLICAN WOMEN: The North Kitsap Republican Women will host their monthly meeting on June 17 at the Poulsbo Fire Station at 11:30 a.m. Guest speakers will be Jan Angel, Marlyn Jensen, Brad Ghering and Randy Neatherlin. Info: call Brenda at (360) 871-2200.

SENIOR EXCURSION: North Kitsap residents are invited to join the Poulsbo Seniors on an excursion to Sequim on June 19 at 11 a.m. A scheduled lunch stop at the 7 Cedars Casino, a visit at Sequim Senior Center and a tour of the lavender fields is being arranged through Agate Pass Charters. MIDSUMMER CELEBRATION: The Poulsbo Sons of Norway and Historic Downtown Poulsbo Association are planning a Midsummer celebration at 4 p.m. June 21 at the Kvelstad Pavilion at Waterfront Park. This year’s event will honor Poulsbo’s centennial year. Historic displays, dancing and delicious eats are planned. Info: call (360) 779-5209.

MONSTERS IN GARDEN BEDS: Learn about recent ornamental escapees that are threatening our watersheds from Dana Coggon, Kitsap County Noxious Weed Control Program Coordinator, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 21. at the Stillwaters Environmental Center in Kingston. OPTIMIST CLUB: The North Kitsap Optimist Club is holding a “Treasure Chest of Pampering” raffle at 4 p.m. June 21 in conjunction with their second annual rummage sale. Proceeds will help send more than 4,000 books to a village school in Kenya. Purchase tickets in advance at Cedarwilde, Synergy Healing or the Poulsbo Chamber of Commerce. NK CAR AND MOTORCYCLE SHOW: The Kingston Lumber Relay for Life team will host a car and motorcycle show from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 22 in the Kingston Lumber District Yard. CANDIDATE FORUM: A candidate forum for the 23rd and 35th Congressional District and the North Kitsap County Commissioner District 1 will be at 7 p.m. on June 24 in the Evergreen Room of the Silverdale Community Center at 9729 Silverdale Way just north of Walgreen’s. Kitsap Alliance of Property Owners is the sponsor of the forums. Coffee and cookies will follow.

BOTANICAL ILLUSTRATION: Portraying the Plant classes are offered through Poulsbo Parks & Recreation June 24-Aug. 5 from 7-9:30 pm at the Recreation Center. Beginners and more experienced artists welcome; students will learn observation & measurement skills, watercolor washes, and dry brush technique to render realistic leaves, flowers, and other botanical subjects. Supplies may be purchased through the instructor, Kathleen McKeehen, freelance illustrator and botanical artist. Cost is $118 for the 7-week course. Info: (360) 779-9898.

ORCA TRIP: Poulsbo Parks & Recreation is offering an exciting day trip to San Juan Island on June 25. Participants will take a chartered coach to Port Townsend where they will board the Glacier Spirit. The boat trip includes an hour-long narrated tour and viewing of the Orcas. Once on San Juan, you can enjoy 2.5 hours of strolling Friday Harbor and lunch at a restaurant of your choice. The boat returns to Port Townsend at 5 p.m. and the bus to Poulsbo at 6:30 p.m. The $89 fee includes all transportation costs while lunch and shopping are on your own. LIVING WITH TOXINS: Learn about the toxins we live with daily and carry in our bodies that affect the natural systems that support our lives at 7 p.m. June 26 at the Kingston Fire Hall. LOW-TIDE BEACH WALK: Join a marine ecologist from Stillwaters Environmental Center to discover the area’s rich nearshore environment during the annual low-tide beach walk from 12:30-1:30 p.m. July 5.
