POULSBO — Police found nearly $5,000 cash, methamphetamine and a stolen military police badge during a search of a Poulsbo-area home this week.

The owner of the home, Mark Edward Bonacquisti, was arrested on June 30.

Bonacquisti, 43, was charged in Kitsap County District Court with felony possession of methamphetamine with intent to manufacture or deliver. He was not on the Kitsap County Jail roster on July 1.

The Bremerton Police Department’s Special Operations Group, which includes members of the Poulsbo Police Department, was tipped off to two Kitsap homes that could contain meth after a Bremerton police officer made an arrest in June. That arrest yielded a quarter-pound of methamphetamine and $5,200 cash. Information gained from that arrest led officers to a home in the 18000 block of Clear Creek Road in Poulsbo. A search warrant for the home, owned by Bonacquisti, was served on June 30.

A search of Bonacquisti’s home reportedly uncovered $4,733 in cash and more than 100 grams of meth. A digital scale with meth residue on it was also reportedly found. Investigators estimate that the street value of the meth is approximately $10,000, based on a local price of $80-100 per gram, according to a report from the Bremerton Police Department.

The meth and money were “hidden hastily in a laundry basket in the laundry room,” according to the report.

Police also found a badge and credentials for a military police officer from Joint Base Lewis-McChord that appear to have been stolen, according to a press release from the Bremerton Police Department.

Bonacquisti told police that he was a meth user and was a “small-stature dealer,” dealing only “a gram or two at a time,” according to the police report.

When police told Bonacquisti that he was under arrest, he allegedly said, “For what? A small bag of meth?”

The Poulsbo-area home is believed by investigators to have been supplying meth to another home in Bremerton, according to Bremerton Police Chief Steven Strachan.

The Bremerton Special Operations Group also served a search warrant at a home in the 1500 block of Warren Avenue in Bremerton on June 30. Police first conducted a controlled purchase of meth from the home with an informant, before searching the home.

The homeowner, Bruce Dennis Jacobson, 55, was arrested after the search. He was charged in Kitsap County District Court with felony delivery of methamphetamine and felony possession of methamphetamine with the intent to manufacture or deliver. He was in Kitsap County Jail on July 1. Bail has been set at $30,000.

Police reportedly found 67 grams of meth, with a street value of $5,400, in Jacobson’s home, according to a Bremerton police report. A digital scale with meth residue on it was also reportedly found with other drug paraphernalia.
