Unitarians begin stewardship drive

Since 1950, people from all over the Kitsap Peninsula have gathered at the Kitsap Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (KUUF) to share liberal religious values and the common search for greater understanding that gives spiritual meaning to our lives.

Since 1950, people from all over the Kitsap Peninsula have gathered at the Kitsap Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (KUUF) to share liberal religious values and the common search for greater understanding that gives spiritual meaning to our lives.

Our Fellowship is a center for community activities in addition to being a place of worship. We welcome a variety of groups to meet in our building and encourage the community to use it as a place for celebrations.

We strive to be a caring and compassionate neighbor. We tend to the Kitsap community, quietly assisting neighbors in need. Since 2006, we have donated $57,000 to 22 local nonprofit programs through our Charitable Giving Program. Our Social Justice Committee’s 2-year-old Thursday Lunch program provides a free hot meal to some 50 community members weekly. At the same time, we’re reaching out to Washington and our wider world.

We think of ourselves as everyone’s community church.

For the next four weeks, the Fellowship will be holding its annual Stewardship Campaign — The Art & Joy of Giving. This is the time of year when we ask church and community members to help support and maintain this welcoming place that is open to all.

Like so many, we, too, are feeling the economic crunch, and we are reaching out to all of you to join with us to help support our outreach programs and maintain the Fellowship building. Most importantly, your gift would help support our mission to build a liberal religious community of love and justice, enriched by diversity, that nurtures spirituality and inspires us to act on our beliefs.

If you are able to offer a one-time donation or would like to make an ongoing pledge, please send these to our treasurer, Robin Clark, at KUUF, P.O. Box 2015, Bremerton, WA 98310. Your donation, large or small, will be greatly appreciated.
