POULSBO — Jeff Weible was named a high school coach of the week by the Seattle Seahawks and Washington State Football Coaches Association Sept. 25.
Weible, the head varsity coach for the North Kitsap Vikings, was selected as one of two coaches for week three.
The award is part of the NFL High School Coaches of the Week program, which, sponsored by the Washington Army National Guard, is a partnership between the coaches association and the Seahawks.
Recipients of the weekly award receive a $500 cash donation for their football program from the Seahawks, a $225 Sports Authority gift card, a Seahawks jackets, and personalized football.
At the end of the season, one coach will receive the Jim Ennis Award for High School Coach of the Year and a $2,000 cash grant.
So far this season, Weible has led the Vikings to three victories in a row. The team defeated the Bainbridge Spartans 29-7, Sept. 5; W.F. West 28-7, Sept. 12; and Black Hills 26-7; Sept. 19.
The Vikings play the Sequim Wolves at North Kitsap Stadium Sept. 26 for their homecoming game. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
