SUQUAMISH — The venue was the Kiana Lodge, the event was the Greater Poulsbo Chamber of Commerce’s annual awards dinner, but after Pam Whitt of AmericanWest Bank took the stage it could have been “Late Night” with Conan or Dave.

Then there was the one about her mother’s advice to the young bride about consummating the marriage, but we’ll leave that one out of this family newspaper (punchline: She bought bunk beds).
About 100 people attended the annual event Saturday, but Chamber of Commerce Administrative Assistant Sandi Hunter said the event may have netted more money for the chamber than the better-attended event last year.
The event featured a silent auction; live auction of elegant desserts, displayed by equally elegant Miss Poulsbo Michaela Meeker, former Miss Poulsbo Natasha Tucker, Miss Silverdale Epiphany Nick, and Miss Kitsap Jessicajae Townsend; and music by Top 40/rock/funk band Shark Sandwich.
There were 26 donated silent-auction items, among them dinners, excursions, framed art, gift baskets,golf packages, overnight stays, personal-care items, and spa visits.
Chamber President Tom Taylor of Costco helped present awards, his last official act before turning the presidency over to Kathleen Haag of Mary Kay Cosmetics.
Ambassador of the Year: Victoria McDonald of the North Kitsap Herald.
Pearce Dressel Volunteer of the Year: Lynanne White of American Rose Bridal.
Organization of the Year: Girl Scouts Service Unit 310; Ann Yurovchak accepted on behalf.
Small Business of the Year: Team Innovative Services, Ken and Margie Perry.
Organization of the Year: Robyn Chastain, for her work with North Kitsap Schools Foundation.
Large Business of the Year: Port Madison Enterprises; CEO Russell Steele accepted on behalf.
Person of the Year: Sandy Kolbeins, The Loft.
