POULSBO — Traffic in the south-bound lane of Highway 305 to Bainbridge Island was jammed starting at about 8:30 a.m., Jan. 5.

The traffic backed up from the Bainbridge Ferry Terminal to Lincoln Road in Poulsbo, where a combination of commuters and Seahawks fans are working their way to Seattle.

Island traffic is slow but running smoothly as cars line up to take the ferry to Seattle. Traffic is stop-and-go beyond the Agate Pass Bridge, however, all the way to Poulsbo.

Seahawks fans are on their way to the 11 a.m. parade just south of Seattle Center at Denny Way. The parade, a victory celebration for the Seahawks’ 43-8 win over the Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl, is expected to draw large crowds.

Washington State Ferries is advising travelers on the Bainbridge-Seattle, and Bremerton-Seattle ferry routes to expect long lines. The ferry service advises ticket lines will be long, and encourages passengers to pre-purchase their return tickets in advance.
