Kitsap Tours wins TripAdvisor award for 2011

Kitsap Tours, a one-year-old tour business offering tours of Bainbridge Island, the Kitsap and Olympic Peninsula, has received an Award of Excellence from TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site.

The Award of Excellence is based on the ratings of TripAdvisor users — people who have used the services and have rated them in a public forum.  Kitsap Tours has consistently held a five-star rating since it was founded in May 2010.

“I started Kitsap Tours because I saw a need,” said Jean Boyle, co-owner and operator.

“As director of tourism development for the Kitsap Peninsula Visitor & Convention Bureau for eight years, I tried to talk others into starting a tour company based on picking people up at the ferries and exploring the West Sound, but no one ever got the concept off the ground. When I had the opportunity to start the company on my own, I was reluctant to take the jump.”
