I greatly appreciate my senator Patty Murray and my U.S. congressman Jay Inslee. The are both working hard to develop legislation that will help boost our economy. I am happy they both supported the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The Congressional Budget Office notes that this act will extend Medicare solvency more than a decade and will cut the deficit by $1.2 trillion over the next 20 years. Insurance companies will not be able to deny coverage of pre-existing conditions nor be able to cancel coverage when a person gets sick. More preventative care will also be covered for consumers.

Both Murray and Inslee also voted for Wall Street reform, which will give consumers more protection of their investments. Also, inappropriate pay to bank executives will be limited.

I appreciate Murray’s work for the benefit of veterans. I am pleased with Inslee’s efforts on ecological and environmental issues. These issues also contribute to a sound economy.

Murray and Inslee get my vote.
