PORT ORCHARD — A 33-year-old Kingston man is facing charges stemming from an alleged Feb. 10 vehicle assault against two Suquamish Police officers. The man was shot several times by police after running into one officer with his car, according to the Kitsap County Sheriff’s office.

Sean Allen Major was booked into the Kitsap County jail on March 23 and was charged with third-degree assault against a law enforcement officer, vehicular assault and failure to appear in court. The failure to appear was from an unrelated incident. Bail was set at $250,000.

Major had been held at a Washington State Department of Corrections facility in Monroe, where he was taken after being treated for gunshot wounds at Harborview Medical Center.

The incident began when Suquamish Police responded to a disturbance call on the 6500 block of NE Nelson St. When officers arrived they saw a group of people outside and ordered them to “stop, remain where they were, and to keep their hands visible,” according to a release from the Sheriff’s Office.

Instead, Major got into his 1998 Chrysler Sebring and drove out of the driveway, hitting one officer with the car’s bumper and driving over another’s foot. Police officers shot him as he was driving.

“The suspect driver kept the Sebring moving and drove to another residence on NE Geneva Street, also in Suquamish,” the release stated. “There they obtained another vehicle and

left to seek medical attention. They realized that they wouldn’t make it to the hospital and, instead, pulled into the Suquamish police station for help.”

Major was airlifted to Harborview for treatment.

The officers were taken to Harrison Medical Center where they were treated and released.
