Businesses at Kingston Crossing located on Hwy. 104 at George’s Corner are planning a fun and safe Halloween trick or treat event from 2 to 7 p.m. Oct. 31.
Included are family friendly Halloween movies, face painting, bobbing for apples and a costume contest. All kids are invited.
OC hosts Transition Times
The Olympic College Women’s Programs and College Success and the Washington State Displaced Homemaker Program will sponsor a one-day workshop for homemakers in transition from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m on Wednesday, Nov. 5 in the Bremer Student Center’s north and south conference rooms at Olympic College Bremerton.
This is a free event for homemakers in transition and will help create awareness of services and programs at OC designed for homemakers to achieve success.
The workshop will feature presentations on goal-setting, community resources, educational resources, basic financial planning, how to access free legal resources, and Olympic College academic and professional/technical programs.
Although this event is offered at no cost to participants, pre-registration is required by Oct. 30.

Pearson Elementary’s Pearson Pride fall auction
Pearson will hold its second annual Pearson Pride fall auction on Saturday Nov. 1 from 6:30-10 p.m. at the Sons of Norway Hall, downtown Poulsbo.

Fourth graders at Vinland Elementary are taking orders for wreaths, garland, crosses, candle rings, and centerpieces made locally by Mount Rainier Greenery. It’s “Frankenstein” drama time at North Kitsap High
The drama class at NKHS is presenting a student-produced, adapted, and directed play of a portion of Mary Shelley’s classical novel of a scientist’s impulse to play God.
Victor Frankenstein discovers how to re-animate dead tissue and create a living being.
This adaptation takes place on Victor’s wedding night when the “monster” asks for the same rights as any other human being, “The right to love.”
Show times are at 7 p.m. on Oct. 25, 30, 31 and Nov. 1, in the Viking Playhouse located in NKHS’ 700 building (technology). Donations of $5-7 are graciously accepted at the door and the funds are used by the NKHS Dramatic Arts program.
Book fair comes to Suquamish
