KINGSTON — A Kingston woman was injured in a three-car collision at Highway 104 and Miller Bay Road Wednesday afternoon.

Sokheng Cheng Martz, 41, was taken by aid car to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton, the Washington State Patrol reported.

The collision occurred at 4:31 p.m.

According to a state patrol report, Martz’s car was stopped behind another car for traffic on westbound Highway 104 near Miller Bay Road.

Nicole Ann Shepherd, 32, of Belfair was “interacting” with a 7-year-old in her vehicle when her car — a 2001 Honda Accord — crashed into the rear of Martz’s Honda Civic, pushing it into the back of a pickup truck.

State patrol determined the cause of the crash was “following too close and inattention.” Shepherd was cited for following too close.

The driver of the pickup, Sean Michael Anderson, 24, of Port Townsend, was not injured. Shepherd and the child in her car were not injured. Anderson, Martz, Shepherd and the 7-year-old were wearing seatbelts, according to state patrol.

Martz and Shepherd’s cars were impounded. Anderson was able to drive his pickup away.
