Flotsam and Jetsam Garden Club hosts author Debra Prinzing at Sept. 12 meeting

The Flotsam and Jetsam Garden Club will start off its 2012-13 season on Sept. 12, 9 a.m. at the Greater Hansville Community Center on Buck Lake Road.

KINGSTON — The Flotsam and Jetsam Garden Club will start off its 2012-13 season on Sept. 12, 9 a.m. at the Greater Hansville Community Center on Buck Lake Road.

Socializing begins with coffee and refreshments. The business meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. After a short break, guest speaker Debra Prinzing will talk about “Slow Flowers: The Green-Flower Movement from Field to Vase.” She recently published “The 50-Mile Bouquet: Seasonal, Local and Sustainable Flowers.” There will be a book signing afterward.

Yearly dues for the Garden Club are $15 for individuals and $20 for couples. Dues may be paid at the meeting or mailed to P.O. Box 14, Hansville, WA 98340.
