KINGSTON — It was a mix of education and thrills June 4 when The Reptile Man came to visit Gordon Elementary.

Scott Petersen (The Reptile Man) showed off a portion of his reptile collection in the afternoon. Petersen operates The Reptile Zoo and Living Museum in Monroe, 22715 State Route 2.

A second presentation is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. for students and their families in Gordon Elementary. Tickets are $2 per person for the evening show.

Included in his collection was a snapping turtle, Gila monster, boa constrictor, Burmese Python, and an alligator named Lucy.

Rachel Osborn, Gordon’s principal, said the assembly included lessons on reptiles “with shock value.”
