Ed Wolfe, candidate for the Central Kitsap County Commission seat, recently added two key members to his campaign team.
Local political activist and North Kitsap native Abby Burlingame was appointed campaign manager. She has served in key positions in local and regional campaigns, as well as running her own Kitsap County race in 2010.
Rebekah Johnson, who most recently served as Sen. Jan Angel’s finance director, has joined the campaign as finance coordinator. The South Kitsap and UW-Tacoma grad helped the Angel campaign raise more than $750,000 just last year.
“I’m very fortunate to have these two outstanding and successful women on my team,” said Wolfe. “They bring a breadth of expertise and know how to win.”
Wolfe, a Republican, started his campaign in early January and has already raised more than $25,000. He enjoys the support of families, community leaders, and local businesses from across the County.
“We’re off to a great start,” Wolfe said. “My message that we need to bring balance back to Kitsap County is clearly connecting with the voters.”
Wolfe is running for the seat vacated late last year by Democrat Josh Brown. Filing for the position will be in May, with a primary election scheduled for Aug. 5.
The only other person who has announced for the position is Linda Streissguth who is running as a Democrat.
