The Central Kitsap school board will meet this Wednesday in the Jenne-Wright Administration Center board room at 9210 Silverdale Way NW.
The meeting is open to the public, and the regular session will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Key agenda items include a presentation on the district’s strategic plan to improve third grade reading and an update on co-curricular opportunities.
The report on co-curricular opportunities was prepared by the superintendent’s task force and focusses on ninth grade students moving up to high schools for athletics in the upcoming school year and attempting to equalize gender participation numbers in high school athletic programs.
Also on the agenda is a resolution urging Congress to eliminate sequestration reductions to nondefense discretionary programs, an action item to allow teachers to be assigned to teach courses outside of their certificate endorsements and a resolution to designate the week of March 11-15 as Classified School Employees Week.
