TERRE HAUTE, IND. —  Ruby Roberts and the Washington State University women’s cross country team won the Indiana State Pre-Nationals Invitational Oct. 18.

Roberts, a Kingston High School graduate, took 21st in 22 minutes 12.4 seconds.

The women’s team won the 33-team race with a score of 143 points. Southern Illinois took second with 182.

“The women’s team ran very well,” WSU cross country director Wayne Phipps said. “It was great to get the win and to have Ruby running with us again.”

WSU senior Abby Regan was the runner-up in the 6,000-meter event. She finished in 21:31.3.

The WSU men’s team competed as well, finishing 17th.

The next competition for WSU is the Pac-12 Championships Oct. 31 in Oakland, California.
