If you’re looking for a store where you can buy a tin lunch box, beautiful jewelry and a license plate purse, then Fuego is right up your alley.
Fuego is one of Kitsap Mall’s newest stores and shoppers seem to like what they see inside the unique shop.
“Business is very good,” store manager Charlie Youngchild said. “It’s kind of surprising for a (Monday).”
Fuego opened for business about three weeks ago and Youngchild said Kitsap County shoppers are flocking to the local store, located near the Barnes & Noble entrance inside the mall.
Fuego stores are located throughout the Northwest, including Oregon and Idaho. Youngchild, of Puyallap, said some Kitsap County shoppers already knew about Fuego and were excited to see one open in Silverdale.
“Tacoma was one of our first stores. Many people are familiar with that one,” she said.
Fuego sells a wide variety of items including costume and case jewelry, T-shirts, hats, purses and gag gifts.
“It’s kind of like a mixture of stuff,” Youngchild said.
She said the most popular items are the colorful star lamps hanging from the ceiling of the store.
She said Fuego may look like a store geared toward teenagers, but everyone can find something inside the eclectic shop.
“From the outside, it looks like a teenage store, but when you come inside there’s something for everybody,” she said.
Youngchild said she buys many of her Christmas gifts at Fuego and shoppers could easily find gifts for every person on their Christmas list at the unique store.
