KINGSTON — The Kingston Buccaneer varsity team is one win from tying for first in the Olympic League with the rival North Kitsap Vikings.
The Bucs (7-1-1-1) are trailing the Vikings (9-0-0-1) by three points, with 24.
The Bucs and Vikings play April 18 at North Kitsap Stadium.
Prior to the rivalry game, however, the Bucs play the Olympic Trojans (5-2-0-2) April 16.
The game against the Trojans will give the Bucs a chance to tie with the Vikings before going head-to-head April 18. If the Bucs defeat the Trojans outright — earning three points — they will go into the game tied for first in the league.
The Bucs further separated themselves from the Sequim Wolves April 12 with a 4-0 win over the North Mason Bulldogs.
The Vikings defeated the Trojans 2-0, April 12, in a revenge match. The Trojans are the only team to have defeated the Vikings.
