Month-long book sale in September
KINGSTON — The Stillwaters Used Book Sale starts on Sept. 5.
The book sale continues through Oct. 12, and is open each Friday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Stillwaters, 26059 Barber Cut Off Road, Kingston.
About 15,000 new and used books will be available. Most are priced at $2 or less.
The books cover all subjects, fiction and non-fiction.
Prices on books decrease as the sale goes on. During the last weekend of the sale, books will be sold by the bag.
All proceeds from the sale support construction of trails, preservation, and environmental education for the schools and community.
Eco-cruise is in mid-September at marina
KINGSTON — A three-hour tour with Suquamish Tribe fisheries biologist Paul Dorn and marine biologist Betsy Cooper is scheduled on Sept. 14 and 21.
The tour will be on the dock at the Kingston marina and in a boat. There will be two tours each day, 10 a.m., or 1:30 p.m.
Tour guests will learn about the near-shore environment, geological formations, the creatures that live there, and how humans have an impact. There will be hands-on activities.
The tours are open to anyone 12 or older; those 16 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
Cost is $35, or $55 per couple or parent and child.

Stillwaters auction is end of September
KINGSTON — The Stillwaters Auction is scheduled on Sept. 28.
The auction will include a harvest dinner, featuring local farm food and drinks.
The event is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. in the Indianola Clubhouse. Guest speaker: state Sen. Christine Rolfes, D-23rd District. Guest musician: George Ramsey.
The auction will include green, Earth-friendly items. Auction items include art, and golf and kayak vacations. Items can be previewed online until Sept. 15 at www.stillwatersenvironmentalcenter.org.
Cost is $50 for dinner for each person.
