COAST GUARD GRAd

Seaman Tianna Klineburger, a Silverdale native, graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Training Center Cape May, New Jersey Aug. 14.

Her Company, X-Ray, was filmed during their eight weeks of boot camp and the video will be turned into a Coast Guard training video titled, “It’s just eight weeks.”

She is currently serving on the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Polar Sea (WAGB 11). The Polar Sea icebreaker is used to support the Coast Guard’s missions in the Polar Regions and is currently heading north. It also serves as a scientific research platform with five laboratories and up to 20 scientists.

Tianna’s dad, Lloyd Klineburger, welded on the Polar Sea when it was being built at Lockheed Shipyard. He welded on this ice breaker when he was 24, and now his daughter is posted on this icebreaker at age 24.

Tianna also is the daughter of Jan Klineburger. She graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara December 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in professional industrial photography.

She is planning to attend either the Intelligence Specialist School or the Public Affairs School, both in Yorktown, Va. As an IS, she would perform a wide range of duties associated with the collection, analysis, processing and dissemination of intelligence in support of Coast Guard operational missions.
