Kitsap Community Foundation awards local groups

Local organizations received program and project grants totaling nearly $40,000 from the Kitsap Community Foundation.

Local organizations received program and project grants totaling nearly $40,000 from the Kitsap Community Foundation.

The committee presented checks on behalf of the G. Elizabeth and Don M. Drury Charitable Fund, the Anne Y. Petter Family Advised Fund, The Fred “Bunker” Hill Fund, the Brian Montgomery Fund, the EHL Insurance Endowment Funds, the Howe Farm Fund, Tom and Marcia Kilbane, and the Kitsap Community Foundation’s Community Fund.

This year’s North Kitsap grant awardees are: Poulsbo Marine Science Center; Dispute Resolution Center of Kitsap County; Sound Works Job Center; Girl Scouts of Western Washington; Habitat for Humanity of Kitsap County; Kingston Cooperative Preschool; Kitsap Children’s Music Theatre; Literacy Council of Kitsap County; and ShareNet Food Bank.

In addition to these grants, the foundation distributed an additional 24 grants totaling $73,141.20 from Advised Funds to support non-profit organizations. North Kitsap recipients are Dispute Resolution Center of Kitsap County; Great Peninsula Conservancy; Habitat for Humanity; Kitsap Poggie Club; and Kitsap County Historical Society.
