Washington State Patrol (WSP) troopers arrested a 29-year-old Bremerton woman at her home Wednesday morning after she was involved in a hit and run collision on State Route 3.

Troopers responded to the collision around 7:30 a.m. on southbound State Route 3 at the Newberry Hill exit. A 16-year-old Belfair girl, driving a Ford Explorer, was merging onto the highway, according to WSP. Nicole Johns, of Bremerton, driving a Mercury Mariner, was on southbound State Route 3 and the two vehicles sideswiped one another, causing the Ford Explorer to run off the road.

The teen complained of shoulder pain, but her injuries were not believed to be serious, according to WSP.

Within an hour, troopers tracked down Johns and her vehicle in the Jackson Park area. She was arrested and booked into Kitsap County Jail for hit and run.

The teen was cited for making an unsafe lane change.
