Edward Jones employee earns professional designation
Jason Skifstad of Edward Jones in Silverdale has earned the professional designation of Accredited Asset Management Specialist, the firm announced in a statement.
Skifstad completed the Accred-ited Asset Manage-ment Specialist Profes-sional Education Program from the Denver-based College for Financial Planning. Those who complete the program pass a final exam and sign a code of ethics and disclosure form to earn the special designation.
Silverdale woman joins Tastefully Simple
Alisha Vidaurri of Silverdale has become an independent consultant with Tastefully Simple Inc., a national direct food sales company.
Vidaurri offers food samples at home taste-testing parties, along with ideas for everyday meals, recipes and serving suggestions.

Earned Income Tax Credit help
The Asset Building Coalition of Kitsap County is teaching residents how to receive money through the Earned Income Tax Credit, a refundable federal income tax credit for low-income working individuals and families.
Many eligible Washington families do not apply for the tax credit. Individuals who did not earn enough money to file a tax return may still qualify for a refund. Residents can learn more about the tax credit through Kitsap Community Resources’ website at www.kcr.org, or by calling 211.
Leadership Kitsap accepting applications
The Leadership Kitsap Foundation is now accepting applications for the class of 2012. The application deadline is April 1 for a 10-month training program.
The class begins in September 2011 and ends with a graduation ceremony in June 2012. Leadership Kitsap is a development program for existing and emerging community leaders. Participants learn about the critical issues of Kitsap County while identifying the leadership skills to motivate and train and engage others to address the issues.

Curves food drive starts in April
In April, Curves gyms in the Silverdale area will participate in the Curves Food Drive to collect non-perishable food and cash donations to benefit local food banks.
Current members who make a $30 donation or an equivalent donation of food are eligible to receive a Curves reusable grocery bag. From April 4 to 17, Curves will waive the membership fee for new members who donate a bag of non-perishable food or make a minimum donation of $30.
