NEW VICAR AT

SAINT ANTONY’S EPISCOPAL CHURCH

The Rev. Bill Fulton has been appointed Vicar of St. Antony of Egypt Episcopal Church in Silverdale beginning Sunday, May 18.

The Rev. Fulton and his wife, Katy, come from Florence, Ore., where he was Vicar of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church for nine years. For the last seven years he also worked as the executive director of Florence Habitat for Humanity.

A native of Kansas, Fulton graduated from The Evergreen State College in Olympia in 1977. He worked as a boat carpenter at a shipyard in Southeast Alaska before going to an Episcopal seminary in Sewanee, Tenn., graduating in 1995. Following ordination, Fulton served as Rector of two yoked churches in Kansas before moving to Oregon in 1999. He and his wife have two sons in college in Oregon.

Fulton will serve under the leadership of the Rt. Rev. Greg Rickel, Bishop of Olympia.

“I’m excited about starting my new ministry at St. Antony’s,” Fulton said. “I look forward to discovering how I can be a servant leader in this community.”

APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED

The Silverdale Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual Home Based Business Expo at Kitsap Mall on May 31. Applications are now being accepted.

As an organization dedicated to promoting and growing businesses, the Chamber is partnering with Kitsap Mall to provide this opportunity for home-based business owners to market their products and services to a large consumer audience.

Home-based businesses represent more than half of all small businesses in the United States and are one of the fastest growing segments of the economy. The Silverdale Chamber is pleased to offer this event to members and non-members alike.

Applications are available online at www.silverdalechamber.com. For more information, contact Darla Murker at the Chamber office at (360) 692-6800 or darla@silverdalechamber.com.

VOLUNTEERS SOUGHT

Hospice of Kitsap County is looking for dedicated volunteers to give their time and talents to make a difference in the community. Hospice volunteers are integral members of the hospice team. These special individuals work side-by-side with hospice professionals. Currently, volunteers are sought to support the Hospice Care Center staff with reception, data entry and light office duties. Phone and computer experience is helpful, but not necessary. Volunteers also are needed to assist with housekeeping, gardening and the cookie brigade.

For more information, call Christy Cathcart at Hospice of Kitsap County at (360) 698-4611.
