KINGSTON — Fifty spectators watched as 35 North Kitsap Options dancers performed Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” on Thrill The World night Oct. 28, 7 p.m., at Cup and Muffin in Kingston.
Thrill The World is an annual worldwide simultaneous dance of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” Volunteers in cities around the world organize events using the Thrill The World leaders manual and Thrill The World tool box. Anyone can organize an event; no age requirement or experience is necessary. And there is no limit to the number of events in each city. Many events raise money for a local or non-profit charity of their choice.
Students started practicing in July. “Kristen Chandler and I taught two classes at our fall camp that were two hours each,” Options parent Shawn Michael Adams emailed. “We did classes once a week during July and August and two more in October leading up to the dance. This was one of many group/community building events we do and a great confidence boost for some of the kids. And it was really fun.”
Here’s a video clip from the performance.
