Shouldn’t have gone up there

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call at the Canyon Park Apartments in the 700 block of NE Mesa Lane in East Bremerton at about 2 a.m. July 5. Callers reported a man pounding on doors and trying to get into apartments.

The 22-year-old Bremerton man broke into a 23-year-old man’s apartment. The suspect’s ex-girlfriend was inside watching a movie with the man when the suspect knocked on the door and asked for her. The man wouldn’t let him inside, so the suspect began pounding on the door and eventually kicked it in. He went into the apartment, attacked the woman and stole her cell phone.

On the way to jail, the 22-year-old man said he should have listened to his friend who told him “not to go up there.”

Maybe he didn’t like the movie

A deputy responded to a call regarding an intoxicated Bremerton man calling people names as they walked near Redwood Plaza on Riddell Road in East Bremerton at 8:30 p.m. The deputy told the man he needed to move along, but he eventually returned to the area.

When more deputies arrived, the 41-year-old man was yelling at a man and woman. The man said the suspect called his wife a vulgar name and repeatedly yelled at the two of them.

The intoxicated man yelled obscenities at the deputy. When the deputy read him his rights, the man yelled, “I didn’t (expletive deleted) understand any of them!”

The Olympic Cinemas manager said the man attended a 4 p.m. movie and would not leave the area.

The man was arrested and booked into jail for telephone harassment and disorderly conduct. His bail is set at $10,000.
