KINGSTON — The Port of Kingston’s dredge project is slated to begin Nov. 24.The project will force the closure of the public launch ramp for the last week of November and first week of December.

The launch ramp will be closed starting Nov. 25.

All in-water work is expected to be completed by Dec. 30, according to Port Manager David Malone.

The port was originally planning the work to begin Nov. 19, but was slightly delayed to accommodate the Chum salmon fishery, according to Malone.

During the project, vessel access in the marina will limited during the day. American Construction Company will perform the dredge. The company anticipates to work weekdays and possibly one weekend, according to Malone. When work is performed will depend on tides.

The Washington State Ferries will not be affected by the project.

The Kingston Chamber’s Kingston Christmas celebration and tree lighting will take place as planned, on Dec. 6. The yacht club’s light display contest will happen as well.
