Kingston Spring Festival, sponsored by Kingston High ASB, was the “first annual” Home and Garden, Arts and Crafts Show at Kingston High School. The Key Club had a breakfast booth on Saturday and Sunday. Proceeds went into the ASB Key Club account which is earmarked for the lights.
The Key Club is also sponsoring (for the second year in a row) the Dream Project Fashion Show which benefits the Kitsap Foster Care Association. The event is at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, at Kingston High School Commons. The Key Club is still looking for silent auction items and businesses to sponsor with $100 donations. Set up is 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 2nd and then from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday before the event begins. Take down is from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Many of the juniors in Key Club, however, are also taking their pre-college tests on Saturday, May 2 so additional help would be appreciated. Key Club will help with the decorations, help with the publicity for the event by getting the posters and flyers out and getting the word out and will also sell the refreshments at the fashion show event with the proceeds also deposited into the club’s ASB Key Club account, although the club may want to donate all proceeds directly to the Dream Project. The club met with the Kitsap Foster Care Association on April 14.
On May 23, Key Club will be helping Relay for Life hold a garage sale at American Marine Bank in Kingston with all proceeds to benefit Relay for Life. Anyone who wants to donate to the garage sale can bring items directly to AMB from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday evening, and it is possible the hours will be extended.
Key Club will also need donations for the actual Relay for Life event. The club will be organizing the schedule for its participation in the 24-hour relay event held from 6 p.m. July 10 to 6 p.m. July 11 at the North Kitsap Baptist Church. Key Club plans to be camping out with tents and food to cook. If anyone loves to cook and organize this kind of event, we could sure use their help.
