KINGSTON — Kingston port commissioners will occupy a room in Poulsbo City Hall Jan. 17 for a workshop.

The board needed a space it could occupy for an extended period of time without interruptions, Commissioner Walt Elliott said. The workshop is open to the public, but public comment will not be taken, according to the agenda.

The workshop is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the City Hall Conference Room on the second floor. Poulsbo City Hall is located at 200 Moe St. NE.

The workshop will include an update on port business by the new port manager, David Malone. A discussion on budget adjustments for 2014 will take place after Malone’s update.

Of the items up for discussion, the dredging project and covered moorage will be of importance as the port makes adjustments to the budget. The maintenance dredging project was recently delayed when the Department of Natural Resources discovered a portion of work would be done over state-owned aquatic land.

Elliott said some beams may need to be replaced on covered moorage slips.
