Bucs boys, girls teams advance to State | Cross country

Kingston is one of two schools to have both teams qualify for State during the Westside Classic

LAKEWOOD — Kingston High School will be represented by both boys and girls teams at the 2A State championships Nov. 3.

Kingston is one of two schools to have both teams qualify for State during the Westside Classic (Districts), Oct. 27. Sumner will also send both boys and girls teams.

Kingston’s boys took fifth during the District championships. The girls took third. In order for a team of seven running at Districts to qualify for State, girls had to finish fifth or better, boys had to finish sixth or better.

The Kingston and Sumner girls tied with team scores (100). The North Kitsap girls won the championship.

The boys finished with a score of 123, behind Sequim (114), and in front of Franklin Pierce (159).
