Haunted Images photo competition

Local photographers, professional and amateur, are invited to submit their photos for the Haunted Images photography competition. Photos must be submitted by 6 p.m. Sept. 30, and can be sent via email to johnny@almostcandid.photography. Judging criteria include theme, originality, artistic merit and technical excellence. American Pickers to film in Washington

Mike Wolfe, Frank Fritz and their team plan to film episodes of the hit series “American Pickers” throughout the region this fall. “American Pickers” is a documentary series that explores the fascinating world of antique “picking” on the History channel. The show folllows Wolfe and Fritz as they hunt for America’s most valuable antiques.

Along the way, the Pickers want to meet characters with remarkable and exceptional items. “American Pickers” is looking for leads and would love to explore hidden treasure. Social justice meet and greet Sept. 10

The Kitsap County Council for Human Rights is hosting a social justice meet and greet from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 10 at the Eagle’s Nest in the Kitsap County Fairgrounds, 1195 NW Fairgrounds Road, Bremerton. Social justice organizations from throughout Kitsap County will join in conversations and share information with the community about the work they do, upcoming events and resources available. Girls on the Run coach registration open

Girls on the Run of West Sound needs 60 coaches for the fall season. Register to be a coach and help make a difference in a girl’s life. Coaches with a child in the program receive a $25 discount.

Coach training sessions are held 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 10-11 and 5-10 p.m. Sept. 19 at Harrison Medical Center in Silverdale. Register at www.raceplanner.com/volunteer/signup/gotrws-fall-2016-coach.

Financial advisor hosts coffee club

John L. Moroney, a local Edward Jones financial advisor, will host a coffee club at 8:30 a.m. on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 2416 NW Myhre Road Suite 102, Silverdale.

“The coffee club offers us an opportunity to learn from one another and receive market updates,” Moroney said. “I look forward to keeping individual investors informed about the current market and economy, as well as have fun and get to know some of my neighbors.”
