LOS ANGELES — Paulyna Garcia Aceves, Kingston High School Class of 2011, has been awarded a one-year scholarship at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising.
Garcia Aceves, 19, was awarded the scholarship for her fashion merchandising entry in the Fashion Institute’s Prom Advice Scholarship Competition. The annual competition, open to high school juniors and seniors, asks for a prom-related fashion design or merchandising project.
Eventually, she wants to work at a magazine such as Vogue or Nylon. She would like to work on layout design, visual imaging and as a creative director, she said.
