Richard Allen Luedtke | Passages

Richard was born on March 6, 1950 in Burbank, Calif. He worked at Eaz-Lift Co. as a forge operator for 35 years, and later moved with his family to Washington. He was a member of the Suquamish Tribe. He worked at Clearwater Casino for 15 years, working his way from dealer to supervisor of table games. He was a proud tribal elder and enjoyed learning about Suquamish customs and traditions.

INDIANOLA — Richard Allen Luedtke passed away on Oct. 12 at his home in Indianola. He was 63.

Richard was born on March 6, 1950 in Burbank, Calif. He worked at Eaz-Lift Co. as a forge operator for 35 years, and later moved with his family to Washington. He was a member of the Suquamish Tribe. He worked at Clearwater Casino for 15 years, working his way from dealer to supervisor of table games. He was a proud tribal elder and enjoyed learning about Suquamish customs and traditions.

Richard is survived by his wife, Lillian Luedtke, who he married in Las Vegas, Nev., in 1977. He is also survived by his sons, Thomas and John; grandchildren, Thomas Jr., Nikolas, Gage, and most precious Gavin, who lives with the family and was very close to his “Grampie”; and two great-grandchildren, Thomas III and Oliver. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Zelia Luedtke, and brother Robert.

Family and friends attended the Memorial Service on Oct. 21, 1 p.m., in the Suquamish House of Awakened Culture in Suquamish.
