Is your daughter interested in being a contestant in the Miss Kingston scholarship pageant? Applications available now at Kingston High School, North Kitsap High School, Poulsbo Middle School, Kingston Middle School, and Spectrum Community School. You can also e-mail Leslie Burns at jaci@terhunecustomhomes.net for an electronic version of the application to be sent to you.

Applications are due by May 13 at Terhune Custom Homes, 390 Hostmark Street, Poulsbo, 98370, or bring a completed application to the first meeting at 7 p.m. on May 13 at the Hostmark address.

Rules:

1. One parent must attend first meeting.

2. To be eligible to participate a contestant must attend a school in North Kitsap School District and have a 2.5 or better grade point average. The contestant must also reside with a parent or legal guardian in the North Kitsap School District. If the contestant is home-schooled or attends a private school that is not affiliated with NKSD, the contestant must live in Kingston, Hansville, or Indianola.

3. A contestant shall not be less then 15 years or more then 18 years of age by June 1.

4. A contestant must be a citizen of the United States before May 1.
