KINGSTON — A 25-year-old Poulsbo woman is facing charges of hit and run and driving with a suspended license, after her car crashed into Soho Teriyaki on July 19.

While on her way to pick up pizza, Rosie Juarez allegedly took a vehicle from a relative’s house without permission and drove it into the front of the Kingston restaurant, according to a report from the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office.

“Juarez stated her vehicle jumped the curb from the parking spot and hit some patio furniture in front of Soho Teriyaki,” the report reads.

“Juarez said she ‘panicked’ and drove away until stopping at the location where [she was contacted by the deputy].”

A witness to the crash followed Juarez from the restaurant — located off Highway 104 and Hansville Road — to South Kingston Road near Arness Park. That is where the sheriff’s deputy caught up to the suspect.

Juarez had Washington identification only. The vehicle she was driving was not registered to her, and she did not have permission to drive it, according to a statement in the sheriff’s report.

The metal furniture in front of the restaurant was pushed into the store front window, according to the report. A planter box and glass window that adjoins The Flying Pickle also appeared damaged.
