Second annual Silverdale Beach Hotel Luau brings the hundreds-dollar trip to the shores of Dyes Inlet, for a $55 ticket.

Beyond the traditional pig roast, hula lessons and canoe rides, chances are, if you come to the Silverdale Beach Hotel Luau July 19, you’re going to get lei’d.

Oldest trick in the book for getting people excited for a Hawaiian-themed event. All apologies for the inevitably naughty play on words, but even event organizer Dino Manatad put it out there, after all.

In actuality, this event, which organizers explicitly note as an “authentic” luau, shouldn’t really need any puns or wise cracks to stir up excitement. They’ve got hula girls and a traditional Hawaiian feast replete with sub-terranian roasted pig and a full-on Polynesian-style show.

Not to mention, the price of admission — $55 per adult, $100 per couple, $150 for a family of four — includes a free mai tai for each person of age.

“We wanted the people of Washington to come to Silverdale and experience a little bit of Hawaii and the culture,” Manatad said. “With the price of gas and people not being able to travel to Hawaii … once you’re in Silverdale, you’ll have the food, the Polynesian show, Hawaiian souvenirs and all.”

And even though it’s on the shore of Dyes Inlet rather than in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, you’ll still be right there on the beach with a mai tai in hand.
