YWCA adds four more to board of 18

The YWCA of Kitsap County announced that on Jan. 16, 2013, the Board of Directors elected new members.

The YWCA of Kitsap County announced that on Jan. 16, 2013, the Board of Directors elected new members, Robert Forbes, Wendy A. Miles, Gary Simpson, and Ramon Garrido.

Forbes, a community volunteer is the former Chief of Police of the City of Bremerton. Miles, is a Strategic Planning Manager for the Keyport Naval Undersea Warfare Center. Simpson is a Kitsap County Deputy Sheriff, and Garrido is a Web Developer and owner of a consulting business.

Forbes, Miles, Simpson and Garrido will join the list of 18 other members serving on the YWCA’s board of directors.

The YWCA of Kitsap County provides temporary-emergency housing, transitional housing, and advocacy support for survivors of domestic violence and their children. Annually, over 6,000 women, men, and children access YWCA programs.

The YWCA Community Center is located at 905 Pacific Avenue, Bremerton.
