Rieland awarded
Pacific Northwest Title CEO and President Chris Rieland received the Economic Development Champion Award in March from the Kitsap Economic Development Alliance “for instinctive creativity, enthusiasm and unwavering commitment to Kitsap County economic vitality,” according to a Pacific Northwest Title news release.
In 2004, Rieland was named a board member to the then-Economic Development Council for her dedication, knowledge and leadership in the community. She served as chair for the 2007-08 term.Gurnsey joins Wave Business Solutions
Wave Business Solutions, a division of a Kirkland-based cable, Internet and phone services company, announced that Billi Jean Gurnsey, formerly of Wave Media Services, has joined Wave’s Business Solutions team. Gurnsey now works with small- to medium-sized businesses to match their business phone, Internet and hospitality TV needs to Wave’s business solutions. Gurnsey also will continue to serve Wave’s local clients’ marketplace advertising needs.
Gurnsey comes from a diverse sales background ranging from retail department store sales and management to newspaper, radio and cable TV advertising sales and management. She is active on various boards and committees including the Port Orchard Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Kitsap County, Soroptimist International of Port Orchard, the Port Orchard Yacht Club and the Bremerton Elks.

Le-Roux, Michal join Windermere staff
Cathy Le-Roux and Bonnie Michal joined the Windermere Real Estate Silverdale office as sales associates.
Le-Roux was formerly a real estate consultant with Prudential Northwest Real Estate in Silverdale. She has 20 years of sales and marketing experience. Before working with Prudential, Le-Roux was with Merchant Services and also was a wine consultant.
Michal formerly was a sales associate with Prudential Northwest Real Estate in Silverdale. She taught English as a Second Language in Munich, Germany and is a former German teacher. She guest-taught for the Central Kitsap School District and was a member of Leadership Kitsap in 2007. Michal also volunteers for the Angel Care Breast Cancer Foundation.
Cruz joins RE/MAX Platinum Services
Julio C. Cruz joined RE/MAX Platinum Services in Silverdale as an Associate Realtor.
Cruz brings more than three years of experience in real estate to the office and was formerly with Zip Realty of Kirkland. Cruz offers real estate services in both English and Spanish which broadens his level of experience and expertise to a greater share of the community.

Peoples Bank has profitable first quarter, Moore joins staff
At the end of the first quarter of 2009, Peoples Bank reported assets of $1.1 billion and a year to date after tax profit of $1,461,066. Total loans grew 12 percent in the past year. In the first quarter, the bank provided financing to more than 650 homeowners, totaling $162.9 million in new loans and $25.5 million was extended in new loans and commitments to local businesses. Deposits grew 17.5 percent to more than $1 billion since March 2008.
Glenda Moore was hired as a real estate loan officer at the bank’s Silverdale office, located at 10516 Silverdale Way NW.
Moore has more than 25 years of experience in real estate lending. In her new position, she will offer financing options to customers who are preparing to purchase their first home; refinance or remodel their current home; or buy a second home.
Moore is active with the National Association of Professional Mortgage Women and the United Way.
Moore opened Shoreside Gardens and Gifts in 2004, which was located in Belfair and Kitsap Mall in Silverdale.
Kitsap Bank’s Moyer to serve in Silverdale, Abad in CK
Michelle Moyer will be assuming the responsibilities of Operations Supervisor at the Silverdale branch of Kitsap Bank. Moyer has five years of banking experience and has been with Kitsap Bank for one year, most recently serving at the Poulsbo branch.

Operations specialist Mia Abad recently moved to the Central Kitsap branch. She has been with the bank for nine years working as a teller, financial services representative, customer services representative and most recently as operations specialist at the bank’s East Bremerton branch.

The Kitsap County Association of REALTORS retained Mike Eliason as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for an additional three years.
Eliason, who recently completed his sixth year of employment with the association, has more than 20 years of experience in real estate and government service.
Guidinger joins newest KCU branch (PHOTO)
Kitsap Credit Union hired Randy Guidinger as the newest branch manager to serve the Silverdale community at its newest branch located in Silverdale Highlands at the corner of Ridgetop Boulevard and NW Myhre Road.
Guidinger joins KCU with 19 years of experience with credit unions, most recently serving six years as the assistant vice president of Credit Union Services at Washington State Employees Credit Union Service Company out of Spokane.
The branch is scheduled to open in late July and will be the second KCU branch in Silverdale and KCU’s 16th branch on the peninsula.

Angie Hallstrom was promoted to care coordinator at Abiding HomeCare. She has served as a companion aide since July 2007.
Prior to Abiding HomeCare, Hallstrom was a pediatrics medical assistant. As car coordinator, she will schedule companion aides to meet the needs of serving clients.

Comfort Keepers presented 17 award at their quarterly staff meeting held May 14 at the Kitsap Golf & Country Club in Bremerton.
First Quarter Comfort Keeper of the Month awards went to Alice Magers-Cole (January), Josephine Refeurzo (February) and Tena McKnight (March).
Quest for Excellence awards went to Theresa Adams, Judy Klain, Janine Krogh and Colleen Pease.
Comfort Keeper Gold Certification was awarded to Colleen Pease and Heather Smith for completing the entire training regimen required for personal care duties. Jesse Jelley and Sabine Price received their Silver Certification for completion of all required training for Homemaker/Companion care.

Silver City wins four medals
The Silver City Brewery Team won four medals the weekend of June 2-5 at the 15th annual North American Beer Awards in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Silver City won a gold medal in the strong scotch ale category for its Fat Scotch Ale, a silver in the Dunkel Weizen/Weizen Bock category for Beautimus, a silver in the Irish red ale category for its Ridgetop Red and a bronze medal in the Marzen/Oktoberfest category for its Cooper Mt Bock.
