Ivan E. Weich, Jr. (right) with the American Federation of Government Employees, waves a sign outside of the Social Security Administration building in Silverdale Wednesday. About 15 people picketed outside the building to protest possible Social Security Administration furloughs.
“The public needs to understand that if we don’t get a budget that preserves the Social Security office, the public will really hurt,” Weich said, adding that many who seek services from the administration are retired, disabled or of low-income and do not have their own computers to get help online.
