A sheriff’s deputy responded to a car prowl at 8:50 a.m. Saturday on the 1300 block of Island Lake Road.
The driver-side window of a 2004 silver Honda Civic had been shattered and the door was left open, according to reports. The responding deputy contacted the owner, who said 20 compact discs, an owner’s manual and a nylon tool belt with equipment were missing. The belt was valued at $500 and the broken window $250.
There were no witnesses.
A Lakeshore Drive resident contacted the sheriff’s office later that morning, around 10:30 a.m., after finding vehicle registration papers in the roadway. The responding officer matched the papers to the Honda prowl and contacted the owner.
There are no known suspects.
