A 28-year-old Central Kitsap man was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle due to injuries sustained in a three-car collision at a Silverdale intersection Nov. 11.
The accident occurred around 7:15 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Silverdale Way and Bucklin Hill Road intersection, according to Deputy Scott Wilson, Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office spokesman.
Wilson said the 28-year-old CK man, who was driving a 1994 Honda Accord, and a 62-year-old CK woman driving a 1999 Ford Escort were on Bucklin Hill Road facing west when they received a green light to turn left onto Silverdale Way.
A 28-year-old CK man driving a 2007 GMC truck was stopped across the intersection and, against a red light, drove into the intersection and hit the Honda on the passenger side, causing it to crash into the Ford Escort.
The Honda was damaged on both sides and its driver was airlifted to Harborview with suspected head injuries, Wilson said.
The 62-year-old woman driving the Ford Escort was taken by ambulance to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton for further evaluation and treatment.
The man driving the truck and a female passenger were uninjured.
Wilson said neither speed nor alcohol appear to be factors and the collision remains under investigation.
