Viking Avenue is a blight on the landscape

The vacant buildings in the Junction, where the old Poulsbo RV Center and the Ford dealerships were, are a real blight on the landscape. Is anyone listening?

It is really depressing to drive home that way from shopping in beautiful Poulsbo. Is nothing being done to improve that area? Just asking.

I love this town as much as everyone else and would like to see something done there. It is part of Poulsbo too and should not be neglected. Thanks for reading my thoughts on this.

As an aside, it is really fun reading Judy Driscoll’s articles on Poulsbo. She is such a great writer and seems to have researched her history well. Plus, I love her sense of humor.

Thanks for Ms. Driscoll’s contributions. She is a real asset to our community.

Editor’s note: The Poulsbo City Council approved design standards and developer incentives to encourage mixed-use development on Viking Avenue. Read the Herald’s editorial on the incentives online, at www.northkitsapherald.com/opinion/190295931.html
